What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellations must be made at least 3 full days before arrival, starting from midnight. For example, if your booking begins on a Monday, you must cancel by midnight on the previous Thursday.
Group, multi‑booking & long stay booking policy
- Bookings of 4 rooms or more, the same guest holding 4 or more reservations under their name (whether consecutive or separate dates) and any long stay bookings of 10 nights or more are subject to our group booking terms. A non-refundable deposit of £50 per room, per booking is required to secure the reservation. The remaining balance is due 14 days before arrival. Cancellations for group, multi-date or long stay bookings must be made at least 14 days before arrival. Cancellations made after 14 days, or reductions in room numbers or nights - will be charged in full.
What are your check in/out times?
- You are welcome to check in using our easy pincode system between the hours of 3.30pm and 11.30pm. Check out is up until 10.30am.
Is there Wi-Fi?
- Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the building.
Is there parking at The Highcliffe?
- We provide FREE on-site parking at The Highcliffe. This is on a first come, first served basis although there is usually enough space for all of our guests. You are very welcome to use the car park at any time on the day of your arrival.
Do you serve breakfast?
- We don't provide a cooked breakfast at The Highcliffe as we operate on a room only basis. However, we do offer a complimentary breakfast tray to all guests. As these are not included in the room rate and are complimentary, we are not able to take requests for special dietary requirements or additional items. Guests looking for a cooked option can find great choices at the local café, with opening days dependent on the time of year.
What is included in the complimentary breakfast tray?
- Items such as a luxury muffin/croissant, pot porridge, portion of fruit, and orange juice along with tea and coffee making facilities already in the room.
Do you serve meals?
- There are no facilities for lunch or evening meals however The Ship Inn in Aberporth offers dining options and is located less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Booking is essential. Alternatively, feel free to make use of the dining room on the ground floor for take-away food and breakfast trays.
Is there a bar at The Highcliffe?
- We do not have a bar on the premises but the local pub is just a 5 minute walk away.
Do you have any ground floor rooms?
- All of our rooms are located on the first or second floor. There is no lift in the building.
How far is the beach?
- You can walk to a beautiful sandy beach in less than 5 minutes.
Can I bring my pet?
- We are very sorry but pets are not permitted at The Highcliffe.
Are there tea and coffee making facilities?
- Yes, we supply complimentary tea and coffee making facilities to make your stay more enjoyable.
Is there a hairdryer in the bedroom?
- Yes, all bedrooms have a hairdryer.
Is there a fan in the bedroom?
- Yes, all bedrooms have a fan.
Are rooms serviced?
- For guests staying longer than 2 nights we offer housekeeping services including replenishing of room supplies.
Is there a fridge available?
- Yes, we have a communal fridge located in the dining room.

Can you store bicycles?
- As we are unmanned, we may be able to store bicycles by prior arrangement with the hotel.
Do you provide an iron and ironing board in the bedroom?
- There is an iron located in the dining room cupboard along with an ironing board located at the foot of the main staircase.
Access Statement
We aim to ensure that all guests enjoy a comfortable stay, that any requests are handled efficiently, and that everyone feels welcomed throughout their visit.
Highcliffe Hotel is a small seaside property in South West Wales offering eight guest bedrooms.
There is a well‑lit, level car park close to the front entrance. The front door has two steps; a ramp is available on request, and assistance can be provided by phoning the numbers supplied. Seating is available in the entrance area. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.
All bedrooms are located on the first or second floor. There are no ground‑floor rooms and no lift in the building. All stairways have fitted banisters, and corridors are well lit.
All bedrooms are en suite.
- Six rooms have a bath with a shower fitted over.
- Two rooms have a walk‑in shower with a small step into the cubicle.
Hand rails and non‑slip bath mats are provided in all rooms.
Breakfast is provided in the bedroom. The bar and evening meal service are no longer in operation.
There are accessible toilets on the ground floor.
The town centre is a short walk away, though the area is hilly. A frequent bus service stops outside the hotel. Cardigan town is 7 miles away. The nearest train stations are Carmarthen and Aberystwyth, both approximately 45 minutes away by taxi.
The hotel is now unmanned and does not operate a staffed reception. Contact numbers are provided in the bedrooms, at the former reception area, and by email should further assistance be required at any time during your stay.
